Who we are

Since the 1901, St. Matthew’s has served as a spiritual home for individuals and families in the community. We’re dedicated to the mission of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and offering a welcoming space for reflection, worship and growth.

At St. Matthew’s, we take our Baptismal call seriously, embracing the journey of discipleship. We believe in building wells of spiritual nourishment rather than creating boundaries, welcoming everyone in their pursuit of a closer relationship with God. Our community offers encouragement, support, and love, helping one another grow in faith.

Explore our website to learn more about our mission, upcoming events, and recent sermons. Even better, join us for worship any Sunday at 9am to experience the warmth and tradition of Anglican worship firsthand. We look forward to meeting you!

So that’s a bit about us. What about you?

How do you find yourself here? People turn to church for so many different reasons. Some feel a calling that they can no longer ignore. Others were brought up in the Christian faith but have let it take a back seat. Others still turn to God when they feel like there’s nowhere else to turn.

Whatever your reason for visiting our site, we’re glad you did. This site is the gateway to our church and our community, and visiting could be the first valuable step on a faith journey that lasts a lifetime. Visiting St Matthews could help you:

  • Understand God’s purpose for you
  • Find support during a challenging time
  • Learn why the Gospel is still relevant in the 21st century
  • Understand more about Jesus’s life and his ministry
  • Explore your faith in like-minded company
  • Find an alternative to the daily grind of ‘consumer society’
  • Slow down, come away and rest awhile in God’s embrace - away from the rush and bustle of the ‘daily grind’
  • Or simply… feel your soul stirred by a close encounter with God

“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
